The Church is seeking a full time evangelist to assist the congregation in the community. Must be sold out to the Kingdom of God, humble, sincere, and loving. He should be able to teach the Word without manipulation of opinion. Our congregation is made up of 35 members with most of them being young families. Currently we are able to pay 600.00 per week with three bedroom house.



Manhattan Church of Christ

The Minister of the Manhattan Church of Christ must be knowledgeable of the Scriptures and be able to teach, preach and equip the Church for discipleship and service. The Minister must be devoted to Jesus and be passionate about teaching others to live and grow as disciples. The Minister will work with the elders and other leaders in the congregation to equip members for the work of ministry. The pulpit will be shared with the other men in the congregation and guest speakers. Other responsibilities will be assigned to the minister based on his experience, attributes, and interests.

POSITION TITLE: Pulpit Minister



ELDERSHIP EMPHASIS: The focus of the Elders at St John is to increase community outreach, and engage young families in the ministry of the church.

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The St John Church of Christ is seeking an experienced Pulpit Minister who is knowledgeable of the Scriptures and has been gifted to preach, teach, and equip the Church for discipleship and service.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Ministry degree with Bible major is preferred, but applicants without a degree who have demonstrated successful ministry experience will be considered.


  • Devoted follower/disciple of Jesus who is passionate about helping others live and grow as disciples and make other disciples of Jesus.
  • Demonstrates a faithful Christian life and sets a proper example of Christian behavior at all times.
  • Deliver or cause to deliver a sermon at Sunday morning services.
  • Teach or cause to deliver Bible study class Sunday mornings.
  • Ability to engage and relate with multiple generations within the church and community.
  • Visit members, shut-ins, nursing homes, and visitors regularly.
  • Coordinate with the ministry team and staff.
  • Coordinate planned ministry/congregational activities that reflect Biblical objectives.
  • Provide a monthly status report to the Elders concerning activities, issues, concerns and needs.
  • Available as applicable on days off (special circumstances, funerals, emergencies, etc.)
  • Maintain availability by phone and schedule regular office hours and days off.
  • Develop relationships outside the Church family and within the community. Participate in community activities.
  • Husband of a wife who is supportive, involved and contributes to the edification and growth of the church.
  • Design, edit, write articles, and ensure quality of weekly bulletin and web articles.

Independent judgment is required in this position. Latitude in the organization and scheduling of daily assignments is allowed
