The O’Fallon church of Christ (OCOC) is a loving and sound congregation of God’s family,
located in O’Fallon, MO, 35 miles west of downtown St. Louis on I-70. Sunday attendance
averages 135-155. We have three elders, five deacons, and two part-time office managers.
The O’Fallon church actively strives to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are actively
involved in international missions and local ministries.
The minister will serve, lead, teach, mentor, and motivate the families of the O’Fallon
church of Christ (OCOC) in their walk with God. The minister acknowledges that developing
personal, Christ-centered relationships with the families of OCOC is critical to the role of
effective ministry. It is expected that the minister will spend the majority of his time developing
spiritual, mentor-type relationships. Although serving as pulpit minister, this individual
must be able to relate to all age groups, including children and teens. The position is a salaried
position and requires flexibility in hours, days of week and location.
TEACHER: The minister is expected to prepare and preach Scripture-based, relevant sermons
each week, as well as organize, prepare, and execute formal and informal bible classes
and activities that are designed to help our families grow spiritually.
MINISTER: The minister will serve as a spiritual mentor and Christian example for families.
He will demonstrate a passion for spiritual growth and an ability to build lasting relationships
with the families of OCOC. The minister should have a passion for the unchurched
– leading and encouraging the families to go and make disciples for Christ. The
minister should observe and gain practical experience in counseling families as situations
ADMINISTRATION: The minister will function as an integral part of the leadership
team. He will work closely with the elders to chart the strategic direction of the congregation,
set and achieve goals, and evaluate ministry system functions and activities for
effectiveness and synergy with the overall mission of the church. He will coordinate with
and support the worship team for the worship services. He will actively support OCOC
Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Bible and demonstrated
excellent oral and written communication skills. Candidates must relate well to
people of all ages and have a Christ-like heart for the hurting and the lost. The ideal candidate
has a strong Christian marriage.
