Alumni Are a Body

The human body has many parts. All parts are important to the body. There is a connection from one part to other parts, and the heartbeat keeps those parts functioning efficiently.

Sunset International Bible Institute is based in Lubbock, Texas, but Sunset is like a person's body. The extremities of that body are spread far and wide from Lubbock. Graduates have tasted the blessing of God in training and find themselves dangling in some of those distant places, immersed culturally in unique communities, and struggling to meet the ever-changing challenges.

Growth and healthy existence need monitoring from time to time. You will be affected by God's work through Sunset's administration, Sunset's faculty, and Sunset's current student body. Putting your ears against the body will allow you to feel the heartbeat and pulse of Sunset. In turn, Sunset will be able to know where you are serving and fondly appreciate better what God is doing through you.

Alumni Are Important

On Mondays, Sunset still keeps its commitment of keeping you in prayer to the Father. Sometimes, names are mentioned specifically. Always, minds cross all divides to see you placed in God's world with such wonderful opportunities. Desirably, tender and soft affections bring joy, hope, and encouragement.

Alumni, you are important to Sunset. As God describes the parts of His body in I Corinthians 12, every part is significant in body function. We feel the need to know how you are doing. Knowing of God's use of you can only enhance grateful hearts at the home base here in Lubbock.

May the coming months and years bring greater awareness of each other in praising and glorifying our Father in heaven. We sing a song to God with the thought, "I need thee every hour." This truth exists with the body of SIBI and its graduates. "We need thee every hour." Visit our updated web site from time to time. Relay to us your opportunities, joys, accomplishments, and challenges. We promise to do the same for you. If you don't already receive Sunset's quarterly news magazine, Lifeline, please take a moment to join the mailing list.

Also, we are developing a new community site from which our alumni can connect with each other and communicate. Feel free to join and contribute. http://alumni.sibi.cc

Relationship with White's Ferry Road

In 1970, White's Ferry Road School of Preaching was founded by a number of Sunset graduates and others. Good will, intent, support, and prayers have existed between the two schools for years. Later known as White's Ferry Road School of Biblical Studies, this sister school ceased operations in 1992.

White's Ferry Road graduates are now included in the Sunset Alumni Association. This arrangement offers graduates the opportunity to maintain contact with other alumni, while fostering fellowship in a more meaningful way with graduates of a sister school. Sunset welcomes all graduates of White's Ferry Road to Sunset's fraternal group of graduates.
