The Lapeer Church of Christ in Lapeer, Michigan is a grace filled and evangelistic community of believers. We have been blessed with consistent growth and are now approaching 200 in attendance and rising. Our congregation is committed to loving people to Christ and a large part of our recent growth is our Youth Group. Our membership consists of a large number of young to middle aged families and as a reflection we have a youth group of approximately 24 teens. God has grown the youth group through the efforts of a very active and supportive Youth Committee, involved parents, and up until now, a part time Youth Minister. Our leadership wants to aggressively invest in our youth and to that end have decided to create a full time position. Candidates must be sold out for Christ and feel an urgency to reach lost teens. Creativity is critical as the person in this position will be responsible for framing a vision for our teens and working to see this plan to fruition.
Can you inspire others with awesome acapella songs and praise? Understand; we are not looking for a dynamic youth minister who can “lead singing”. We are seeking a Worship Minister who has a heart for worship and possesses the gifts to lead our community in impactful and meaningful worship each Sunday. Throughout the week this person will meet with the ministry staff to pray and develop the next weeks worship service. Videos and other audio visual tools are a part of our worship and because of that, candidates must be technologically competent.
The individual God sends us for this position will enjoy the support, encouragement and help of the ministry staff, the elders and the entire congregation. Lapeer is a peaceful, picturesque Midwest community with a friendly demeanor and hardworking disposition. Bad Axe church of Christ

Need: A located minister and family to preach and work with our congregation. The work would involve preaching, teaching Bible Class, community involvement, and teen activities.

Support: We have a limited annual budget of about $20K. We can afford about $1400 per month and have support from other individuals and congregations.

Membership: Thirteen families; 30 total in attendance.

Building: The building is one story on a one-acre lot, with a new roof, and natural gas heating, and air conditioning. There are three class rooms, a kitchen/fellowship room, and the auditorium seats 64 in pews. A foundation paid for the building and grounds in the 70’s, and the congregation has no debt.

Outreach: Outreach activities include a school supplies giveaway, and a friends and family Sunday. We also conduct a Random Acts of Kindness program, and help with local benevolence needs.

Area: Bad Axe, the county seat of Huron County, is at the tip of Thumb of Michigan which sticks out into Lake Huron. The county is mostly agricultural with some light to medium manufacturing. The population is largely traditional Catholic and Lutheran with a variety of other denominations. There are 10,000 permanent residents which triples in the summer with a migration to the cool lake shoreline.

The Third and Central Church of Christ in Lovington, NM, is in search of a youth and family minister.

He will work under the leadership of our five elders and alongside three youth deacons, a full-time senior minister, a full-time Hispanic community minister, and an office assistant.

The youth and family minister will work with teens and their families through teaching and personal relationships to help guide them into a growing relationship with Jesus.

Main weekly responsibilities will include teaching and managing teachers for youth (6th-12th grade) classes on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings, being involved in teaching parents, making efforts to be involved with families outside of Church functions, and maintaining flexible, yet appropriate office hours for lesson preparation and ministry planning.

The youth and family minister will occasionally be asked to preach on Sunday mornings and to lead singing (if he is able to), allowing the congregation as a whole to get to know him better. The minister will be expected to attend (not to lead, but simply to be involved in) one of our many inter-generational Family Care Groups which meet in members' homes at various times on Sunday afternoon and evening. These groups have replaced our Sunday evening services.

Qualifications: Must have a passion for the Church and its growth. Must desire families and teens to grow in their faith. A married man is preferred. The following qualifications are also preferred by the congregation, but we do not want them to hinder God sending us the right person: Completed two-year Bible school training with emphases on youth and family or four-year bachelors work in youth and family ministry. Full-time ministry and/or internship experience is a plus.

Sunday morning worship attendance ranges between 130 and 160. Youth group attendance is between 18 and 25 on Wednesday night. We have about 35 teens that have been involved with our youth group in the past 2 years.

The minister will be provided with a compensation package that includes a 3 bed, 2 bath parsonage, a fair salary, health benefits, and a cell phone for ministry connections. A sizable youth budget is also available for curriculum purchase and/or development, events, trips, ministry relationships, and continuing education for the minister.

Lovington is a community of just over 10,000 people located just 20 minutes from Hobbs, NM (Pop. 45,000) and 90 miles from Lubbock, TX. The beautiful mountains of Ruidoso, NM are only 3 hours West of Lovington and are where our teens attend Bible camp and retreats at Mountain View Christian Camp. Lovington has one high school, one middle school (7th and 8th grades), and one 6th grade academy. All schools openly encourage church involvement and welcome ministers on campus. A highlight is the weekly FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) lunch meeting at the high school gymnasium.
